1. ABOUT US
KOWASA.com
is a new web site on photography books and photographic art. The aim of KOWASA.com is to offer, in an exclusive way, the best photography books and create the most important online bookshop in Europe, incorporating month by month the entire stock and new titles from the KOWASA bookstore in Barcelona.
KOWASA.com also devotes a section to its Gallery, where you can access more than 130 Spanish and international artists online.
KOWASA
is the main photography bookstore in Barcelona. After publishing its first catalogue in 1992 KOWASA is, with a stock of nearly 11,000 titles published in English, Spanish, French and other languages, one of the first bookstores in Europe on this subject.
The
KOWASA GALLERY was started in December 1997 to permanently exhibit Spanish and foreign photographic works. It represents several prestigious Spanish artists exclusively and is recognised by artists, critics and collectors as one of the reference galleries in Barcelona.
2. HOW TO FIND YOUR BOOK
To find a book you can use either of the two following options:
- Search engine:
: It is at the top of the right hand side corner of the web page. You can search by title, author, artist-photographer, description, keyword or by all the categories at the same time.
- Subject list:
On the left hand side menu of the web page, you can find a list of categories where you can make your search following areas of interest. You can also search using the four sections appearing on the left hand side under this list of categories, which are explained below: explore authors, Spanish books, out of print books or monographs. On the right hand side of the web page, there is a list with this week’s special offers and another one with bestsellers. From these sections, you also have access to the rest of the books.
2.1 EXPLORE AUTHORS
This option allows you to search by author in a quick and easy way. Just select the first letter of the author’s family name in the alphabetical menu, and the list for that specific letter will appear. You can then easily find the name of your favourite author.
2.2 SPANISH BOOKS
Spanish books
includes all the available books at KOWASA.com that have been published in Spain
Once you have selected this option, there will always be a warning on the top part of the page where you are navigating saying: "You are searching only for
Spanish books...", which will remind you that your search is limited to books published in Spain. You can choose to broaden your search to the entire catalogue, and then this warning will disappear.
If you are looking for a book published in Spain and do not find it on the web, send us an e-mail to
info@kowasa.com with the book details and we will contact you as soon as possible.
2.3 OUT OF PRINT BOOKS
At KOWASA.com we offer you editions that are sold out or difficult to get hold of in the marketplace. Our selection includes rare and old books, and limited editions.
As some of these editions are difficult to find, the exclusive books that KOWASA.com offers you have a unique value, according to each item, and you can possibly find them at different prices in other parts of the world.
Since many of the books
out of stock that KOWASA.com offers you are old editions, the preservation state of each book is different according to the specific item and its circumstances.
2.4 MONOGRAPHS
Monographs are books completely dedicated to the work of one artist or photographer. Click on this section to access the complete monographs catalogue of KOWASA.com.

3. HOW TO MANAGE YOUR LIST KOWASA.com
MY LIST
is a personal page in which you can keep your FAVOURITE books. This list allows you to create your own KOWASA library, a selection based on your preferences, so that you can create your own personalised database from the entire catalogue that we offer you.
You can always access
MY LIST, clicking the appropriate button on the left hand side menu. We will ask you to enter your personal password at KOWASA.com, that also allows you to make your purchases, and access your personal and exclusive space at KOWASA.com.
4. HOW AND WHY TO REGISTER
To register at KOWASA.com, just click the
Register button in the top menu of our Home page. You will then access the registration page, where you can fill in a short registration form.
Why to register? The main reason is that, after registration, you will be able to enjoy free the additional services that KOWASA.com offers you. You will receive weekly an e-mail with the news bulletin on the photographic world (exhibitions, trade shows, competitions, awards, products, and many more), as well as the best offers and the novelties arriving each week at the
KOWASA bookstore in Barcelona.
The registration form allows you to subscribe only to those news and subjects that are of your interest, or to all of them. You will be asked your personal details and you can choose whether you want to receive the bulletin in Spanish or in English.
Access the
Register page and enter your e-mail and password to cancel your subscription or change your personal details.
